Christmas time and I'm getting a new PC. Would appreciate opinions on what is the best set up for tv capture - either a P4 2 GHz or the AMD 1900 XP. Where I live AMDis cheaper and I've read its more powerful even though it's "slower". Other main application would be video conversion and compression. Any opinions gratefully recieved.
Cheers + Happy Christmas

I just got an AMD XP1600 for christmas and it is un-freaking believeable (compared to the speed of my old AMD K6-500). By the way, I wouldn't pay two-cents for any Pentium system, every review I've read says that AMD can whip any comparable Pentium in speed, and they are lower in cost.
