Hi guys,
I can't remember if I've shared this one before, but it's been lying about my hard drive for months. In the original e-mail that it came in, it gives the story behind the movie. Read it before clicking on the link, as it will make a lot more sense.
There was a notorious Russian mining pit where there had been a lot of accidents, and many injuries. There had been rumours going around that there was a lot of drinking going on in this pit, leading to all the trouble. A news crew turned up to interview one of the guys in charge of the pit, who was busily denying that there is any drinking whatsoever going on there...

Whatever he had, it was strong. I think it's the hand coming in and dragging him off the shot that's the icing on the cake.

Yes, this is Russian language, and Russians have a reputation for drinking and denying facts that can be readily demonstrated. This reputation is well deserved, I might add. However, that's not quite what's going on in this interview. Here's the translation:
Worker: Last time we got paid was March 6, for...for the month of November.
Reporter: And when did you go on strike?
Worker: Last month, November 17.
Reporter: So you've worked almost a whole year without getting paid?
Worker: Yeah.
Reporter: Why did you seek this present course of action?
Worker: Because they don't pay us! Same thing all the time--
Reporter: Do you think it will help?
Worker: I don't know. We hope so.
As you can see, there's nothing in the dialogue about accidents, drinking, or even that this is a mining operation, but I don't think that makes the video any less funny. Whoever posted the background story obviously could not understand Russian. He might consider writing for MXC, though.
