my wife had her 8mm home movies to vhs 12 or so years ago and i'm working on putting them on dvd. some of the scenes are overexposed and some underexposed. i'm looking to touch them up as best i can (i don't expect any miracles) while i edit them. i'm using premiere 6.5. can someone please recommend what video effects i should consider using to help clean these up. i would also consider using virtual dub if the filters would be better. below are a couple of frames from the video.
thanks!!

sample one .. prayer
sample 2 you can do something like this ... smooth filter, median filter , color correction and level and clarify .. then adjust hue and saturation and contrast
i think thats what i did - i forget exactly ..

thanks, i'll give that a try. i don't know if this is the way it looks on the film or whoever did the transfer didn't do a good job. we're not sure where the films are, otherwise i would take a look at them and see if it's worth having it done over. for now, i can only work with what i have.
