I ripped Butterfly Effect to the HDD and no longer have the original. PGC Edit says one of the VOB files is still CSS encoded and should be re-ripped. Can I do this from the hdd or do I need the original again?

Disregarding any legal implications, DVDShrink can read (and decode, I presume) from files on HDD. One other way is making an ISO of the files, mount the ISO woith Daemon tools, and use any ripper.

(PS! But the right way to treat files related to something you no longer own, is to just delete them... DS)

If you ripped it, then it shouldn't be CSS encoded.

... and unless your original got "damaged" , I'd suggest that you familarise yourself with the Forum Rules, as you must own the DVD in question to get any assistance with it here.
    If in doubt, Google it.
