I'm using DVDLab Pro to author my dvd. I was wondering if its possible to set the subtitle position on the letterbox. The blackbars instead of the subtitles showing on the display screen. Since the blackbars are there just for the aspect ratio I was wondering if I can display subtitles on it with DVDLab Pro

  2. I dont know, never had to figure if it can do that yet but you can use Subtitle Workshop to change the location of your subs. If soembody else has the answer your looking for great, but if not, I would be doing this if I had too.

If I do it in Subtitle Workshop how would it save? does it change my srt file to something else or it will be the same file format but with different positioning. Or do I have to encode my video again with the subs?

  4. "Save as" .srt (subrip), in same format with different positioning. Author with subs, then check when finished to see if its to your liking.

Subtitle Workshop will save in just about any text or sub stream extension.

As far as I know, srt doesn't support positioning.

Correct. It doesn't. .SSA does, tho, but I'm not sure DVD-Lab does .ssa, and if it does, if it respects the positioning.
