alright. I captured from a DVX 300 came using firewire; into Adobe Premiere 6.5. Now I edited it to what I wanted to look like. Everything looks good but its when i export it to Mircosoft DV AVI or someshit, it doesn't look that great as it did on camra. Now I have it in a AVI format, so I used this program called AVI to VCD,SCVD, DVD. and when I convert, It looks worst than it did before in AVI.
Questions:
1.) What should be my good settings when capturing footage into Premiere?
2.) What is the best program to use when converting and what format?
3.) Off topic, but when enter still pictures into Premiere and I use montion on them, Why are there lines going across of the picture like its losing quality or something?
4.) What esle should I use to make my video quality looking very sharp?
Hopefully I explained this right. thanks guys for reading and any help would be GREAT.

If it's DV from a camera, you aren't capturing, you are just transferring data from the camera to the computer. It should be an exact copy of the file on the camera tape. I use WinDV for camera>computer transfers, but there wouldn't be any difference. There are no quality adjustments for the transfer. Assuming Premier didn't change the quality, it should still be the same after editing.
But I would try a better encoder when you convert it to MPEG-2. I use TMPGEnc, but there are a lot of others that work just as well and are probably faster. Encoding quality depends on your encoder setting. BTW, DV is interlaced and unless displayed on a software player that properly handles interlaced video, it won't look as good as the tape.
After you have converted to DVD, view the footage on a TV screen before you make a final judgment on the quality. -
Transfer and edit DV format, then encode.
Make sure you update your Premiere 6.5 Mainconcept MPeg encoder here.

That mpeg for adobe, well I downloaded it and now its telling me that I have a invalid serial number. Also, The program is telling me that I have to reinstall Premiere. Is there a way around this?
One more question, When working on the project in permiere; I hit enter to watch a preview and I'm seeing lines on the edge of the talent or subject. These lines are created when the subjet is in motion. But when I hold the ALT-Key to watch it, well...there isn't any lines. This is really weird, I never seen this before. Any thoughts?
thanks

Your last question sounds like interlace. As mentioned, many software players don't display it properly. Try VLC or MPC and they should show you what it would look like on a TV. Mostly, when you are editing, just ignore the interlace artifacts, they are only a display problem, not a problem with the video.
