I'm encoding a HDTV file into divx, and use ffmpegx for this purpose, but I would like to "offset" the audio + or - 100ms, or 75ms, or 50ms. Is there a way to do this in ffmpegx?
If not, what is the best way to do this on a Mac?

I'm sorry to hear that sync control only works for mpeg2, as I only convert videos to xvid. Is it possible to adjust the audio in the HD mpeg2 file, then convert that file to divx? I'm going to attempt this method.
What are other solutions Mac users have found to offset audio?
