  1. Hi,

I'm using nero v6, my temps folder was on a different HD, this HD is dead.
I'm using easyrecovery to recover everything.
Now I want to burn the recovery data but Nero doesn't respond, cause it's not finding the temps files wich is not availaible anymore.
So is there a way to change the temps files directly into a file into the programmfile?
Cause I can't change it into Nero setting, nero does not open at all.

    Thanks for your help!

If memory serves me.. its been a long time since I even attempted
such nonsense, because I just let the desaster go, and move on.

    Anyways..

When you recover a given file, it's first letter/char is removed
and turned into a "?" char.

Assuming these file are now restored, and as long as you:

    * remember the folder name (and location) where there were before,
    * and the first char of the filename..

(You have to rename the file(s) to original name, because Nero
will have probably stored the name(s) somewhere's. Then, you have
to create new folders, remembering what the last folders were
during the Nero process, and name them as such. Then, you have to
copy (or move) the file(s) back into these folders. Then, go into
Nero and see if it will take. If it doesn't, you might try hitting
the BACK or PREVIOUS button, and then try again.
Sometimes, that works. But, sometimes not.

    Then..

You (Nero) should be able to continue with the process.

    I think. Only theory here

    Good luck,

  3. Hi,

    Thanks for the solution.
I don't think it will work but I will give a try and let you know.
maybe the easiest way is to desinstall and reinstall Nero so it will probably use the by default setting.

    thanks

  4. Open Regedit,
then go the HKCU\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom.

Browse all the keys and change the temp path in all needed keys.

    Then try restarting nero

I find it hard to believe Nero won't open at all. I would expect Nero to open but give you some sort of error because it cant access its temp folder. Are you sure Nero wasn't installed on the bad drive?
