2 dvds to 1 dvd quthor question

ok so I want to fit a 2 dvd movie onto one dvd I remove unwanted audio/subs and shrink it with dvdshrink I can easily join the 2 parts as one movie using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 but what is missing is some forced subtitles, I tried using dvdmaestro but the splash screen shows on screen then nothing, I end up having to use task manager to close it. could someone offer a solution to authoring the whole movie together with 2 audio sources and forced subtitles

use dvd shrink, you wont get any menus though.

DVD Remake Pro to join with a simple menu at the top level, then DVD Rebuilder to re-encode to fit.

I'm not fussed about menus just the movies, I'll have a go with dvdshrink thanks to you both for the suggestions

Two dvds or lets just say 2 movies.

Step One:
First we need to dycrpt use dvd Decryptor and transfer movies to your hd.

Step Two:
After you have transfered movie to your hd use DvD2One this can take just the movie and lets you set file size. I would set to 2gig.

Step Three:
Take both movies now in 2gig format well 4 gig with both movies and use your favorite author program I would use Tpmgnenc DVD author. You can make a simple menu let you play either movie.
Then it can also burn movie all done.

why aim for 4 gigs? I can burn to the 8.5 gig dvds too and its not really 2 movies its one movie in two parts lol

If you want DVD-9 to DVD-9 just use DVDDecrypter ->ISO Mode read->ISO Mode write.
If you want two DVD-5 to DVD-9 use DVDShrink(make sure to set target size to DVD-9)->rip each DVD to it's own folder->use Re-Author to combine->DVDDecrypter to burn.

First you didnt say you were using 8.5 gig dvds and if you can aford to be using those which are still quite expensive in comparason to 4.7 gig disks. Just buy another copy. And most movies are not on 2 dvds so thats why i said 2 movies. And if ya dont want advise dont ask if were do smart you wouldnt be askin for help.

ok sorry for not being clear on things. but what I wanna know now is is there away to join the two parts as if they where one movie? and not a movie split into two parts?

Couldn't you just rip them to HD, Merge them with TMPGenc to one videostream and then reauthor.

Cant see why anyone would want ONE film to be in 2 parts and be in DVD format (VIDEO_TS) unless it was a really long film (e.g ROTK) or could it be a download? Anyway, if not encrypted, just use TMPGenc DVD Author (TDA) and save to HD and then join them together and output as ONE file. If encrypted, then DVD Decrypter and then TDA to join.
