I'm sure this has been discussed before, but after paging through the fifth page of many search results, I decided to ask the question.
I have DVD data discs on which I've burned large mpg files. They play fine on the 642. But how do I get back to the point at which I stopped watching without fast forwarding, which is very slow.
I've tried the resume play feature--pressing play as the disc loads--but this takes me only to the beginning of the file.
I've also read, maybe here or in the manual, that you can note the time at which you stopped watching and enter that time and go back to it. I've not been able to do that successfully.
Can anyone tell me how to get to a particular point in an mpeg file without fast forwarding?
(Too bad they don't simply have a slider as they do in windows media player.)
Thanks.

If you note the time you can press the <display> button one or two times and use the keypad tomanually enter a time in the HH:MM:SS format. This works with most files....Good Luck

I tried it and it worked. Greatly increases the functionality of the device, since I bought it so that it could play large raw mpeg files that I capture using a pvr.
thanks for the tip.
