  1. A little over a year ago, I got an AMW V101 at Circuit City for $30. This is an incredible buy because it supports everything under the sun (svcd, vcd, dvd+r, etc) with the exception of divx.

    The other day my 2 year old did something to it and now the tray won't open and close properly. At first it wouldn't close at all. I got it to close, but now it won't open.

    If I took a picture of what the inside of the dvd player looks like and posted it here, can anyone help me to try to fix this on my own. Most repair shops won't even look at it for less than $40 which is more than what it cost me.

    If the tray needs to be replaced, etc, then I will get a new dvd player. Just hate for this one to go to waste if it is something simple to fix.

    Plus, it can be a crap shoot out there. Half the DVD players don't always list all the formats they support and most of the cheaper ones don't support anything other than DVD and MP3.
