  1. To test my backups, I've always used the CRC test in DVDinfo, if is comes up with no errors, I've always considered it to be good. That was until last night when I was watching a backup of million dollar baby (good movie). I got almost half way through and it started skipping and freexing. (used +R bitset to ROM) I retested the disc for error and none showed up. Back in the standalone and skips in the same place. Tested in the computer and it doesn't skip at all. Tested with RPM on DVDinfo and it was terrible thru the middle. Did a reburn and tested with RMP then on the standalone and all worked.....

Guess all the scans do mean a little 8)

i've never found much use for scans, aside from wasting time.. as long as you use quality media, a quality burner & play them on a quality dvd player you wont have any problems.

but if you're going around looking for the cheapest burner, cheapest media & cheapest dvd player.. then you might want to do scanning.
