  1. I bought a FW cable and connected my JVC to my computer. The computer recognised it ('found new hardware') as an "AV/C tuner" but cannot download/find a driver for it.

Does anybody know where to get the right driver?

    tangerine,

The same thing happenned with my M10. I just canceled "AV/C tuner" because I didn't need it. Firewire driver part should be ok and you should be able to record your video from NLE to JVC.

    That is not needed? :-0
But there is an "error" in Device Manager. A yellow '!' mark next to 'AV/C tuner'. Is not that a problem?

What application do I need to test if I can send video from my comp. to the JVC?

    Is NLE a application?

DVIO can output DV. Never tried it to a recorder, but it works sending DV to cameras.

NLE= Non Linear Editor. A software video editor.

XP has Firewire drivers built in, you don't need to install one. (At least using SP1 and SP2.)

EDIT: WinDV can also export DV.
