I have created 6 mono racks in Adobe Audition that I need to convert into a 5.1 AC3 file. I have tried BeSweet/BeLight/BeSweetGUI and cannot seem to make it work (I read one post that said the BeSweet MUX facility is not working on the current betas). BeSweet can't seem to read either the 6-channel wavs nor the mono wavs that Audition creates. This is a one-time project, so I really don't want to buy some expensive software (Acid, etc). What are my options? Thanks.

Looks like Vegas 6.0 is your best bet from some of the other posts I've read.

Depending on your needs and budget, you might check out Pinnacle Studio Plus (version 9, I think), with the "Home Theater Edition" packaging -- this supports Dolby Digital 5.1 creator, although I don't know how much "control" one has over the soundtrack production (i.e. it may have much more limited editing than Vegas).
There are a couple of levels of the product, starting at $80, so quite a bit cheaper than Vegas. But again, it depends on what else you need to do; but this might be worth a look. Take a look at www.pinnaclesys.com and see if it'll do ya. Good luck!
