Heya...played around with this a great deal yesterday and no luck.

Have a number of MPEG4 AVI 640x480 files in 4:3 and trying to make a DVD from them. However, my ultimate VOB files are all coming out as 16:9.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong/missing something, but I don't think so. Here's how it plays out:

Drop Source File, select Quick Preset of DVD ffmpeg. Goto Video tab, set Autosize to 4:3 and ensure Video Size is 640x480.

Goto Options, note that High Quality is selected, as is the DVD Profile. Have gone with QT Decode, Letterbox and No QT (experimenting).

Preview shows the 4:3 source preserved.

Author as DVD (VIDEO_TS) is selected.

The resulting elementary MPG stream preserves the 4:3 ratio. But the ultimate VOB files is in 16:9.

Tried DVD mpeg2enc, which preserved the 4:3 ratio, but the process failed.

    Any help appreciated!

Don’t do that. Autosize will put the correct video size there. DVD is 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL). 640x480 is an invalid DVD value. Try again and inform us of the result.

Guess I overcomplicated an automated process, eh?

    Totally worked, thanks. =)
