ok, here is what I am trying to do..
I am trying to put episodes of tv shows on dvd, I can fit 4 per dvd+r, I use DIVXTODVD to encode the shows to VOB form, I have then changed each one like this..
I have 4 vob files, that are 4 episodes, so I take the first two...
VTS_01_001.vob
VTS_01_002.vob
use VOBEDIT to join them, so then I end up w/ vts_01_1.vob & 2.vob
Then I do the same thing w/ episodes 3 and 4 and when they are changed to vts_01_1.vob & 2.vob I change them to 3.vob & 4.vob
then put them all in a VIDEO_TS dir
use ifoedit to create ifo files, then when it is done I choose
GET VTS SECTORS
That is how I have been making my dvd's which only is the 1 title set and ends up w/ like 36 chapters
I would like to learn how to make a title set for EACH SHOW, or at least A title set ever 2 shows, so a dvd has 2 TITLE SETS
Things I have tried is...
after vobedit, the first 2 episodes as vts_01_1.vob & 2.vob
and the 3 & 4th shows I have tried naming them VTS_02_1.vob & vts_02_2.vob
but when I create the ifo files for the first 2 it only makes it for the 01_01.vob & 02.vob, and I think it will work, but when I make ifo files for the 3rd and 4th ones it's like it just rewrites over the ifo files that were already there for the first 2..
I have a movie right here that has 2 title sets, and here is what is in the VIDEO_TS folder
video_ts.bup
video_ts.ifo
VTS_01_0.bup
WTS_01_0.ifo
VTS_01_1.vob
VTS_01_2.vob
VTS_02_0.bup
vts_02_0.ifo
vts_02_1.vob
vts_02_2.vob
So, 1 VIDEO-TS IFO & BUP file, and the first title files are 01_1.vob & 01_2.vob....
and the 2nd title files are 02_1.vob & 02_2.vob
Can someone please explain how I can do this? I have searched everywhere and I can't seem to find out how to do what I'm trying to do.
I forgot to mention that when I am joining the files in VOBEDIT, when I am trying to do it where I name the first two episodes 01_1.vob & 01_2.vob when the dialog box comes up for the VOB-ID I am choosing 1 for them, and have tried choosing 2 for the last two episodes that I am trying to make TITLE 2, that didn't seem to work either..
I would really appreciate it if someone can explain how to do this.. like I said I would really like to do it where EVERY episode has it's own title set, but at least i would like to know how to put the first 2 shows as the first title, and then for title 2 have the last 2 episodes..
Thank you sooo much..

I would just use authoring software that supports multi-vts...
TDA, dvdlab pro...
Or try Gui for dvdauthor (freeware!)
Ok, if you really want to do it 'the hard way':
Do everything like you do for a single vts (up to 'GET VTS SECTORS')
Use two different folders for the two future titlesets.
Each folder will then contain a VIDEO_TS folder with VTS_01*.* files.
Rename the VTS_01*.* files in the second folder to VTS_02*.*
Move the VTS_02*.* to the first folder
Delete the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP in the first folder
Now create a new videomanager with DVDFab:
(The old freeware version 0.17 is ok for this purpose!)
Within 'Other functions' you will find the topic 'Create Videomanager (VIDEO_TS.IFO)'
Just point to your folder (with the VTS_01*.* + VTS_02*.* files) and start.
DVDFab creates the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP files for the two titlesets.
You will not have any kind of menu.GUI for dvdauthor:

tre2004 - You left out two vital pieces of information.
1. You are working with a single video source that has all 4 episodes in it
2. you have little or no idea what you are talking about.
You do not need to have multiple titlesets to have multiple episodes. In fact, there is no advantage to it if all pisodes have the same video and audio format. DivxtoDVD has create a DVD for you. The fact that you have 4 episodes and DivxtoDVD produced four VOBs does not mean that each VOB is one episode.
If, for whatever reason, you must have multiple titlesets, then first you need to cut your single video into 4 parts - one for each episode. If you then load all of these into DivxtoDVD, you will get 4 titlesets.
But one video asset gets you one titleset.Read my blog here.

First off, I want to thank borax, I will try that.. that sounds like that could work..
And in reply to guns1inger,
Well, I am new to dvd authoring, and makeing dvds and that sort of thing.. normally I would just watch the videos and movies on my computer, but I just recently got a dvd player that plays all the formats so I'm trying to learn the process of how to make the different formats, like vcds' and svcd's on cd-r, which was easy.. but, i know that I didn't explain perfectly what I was trying to do, and what I have done, one because like I said I'm new to it, and I don't know all of the terms, and that sort of thing, and another thing I didn't think that someone would want to read the whole detailed process that I take to make the dvd's that I have been making..
But, I think that you didn't understand fully what I was saying, and again, that is partly my fault.
OK, here is the deal..
I have every LOST episode, they are all SINGLE MPG files, or AVI,
I have been loading Episode 1 for instance in DIVXTODVD and encodeing it to VOB format, every episode I have done this way, I have been able to fit 4 episodes on one dvd, and if you want me to explain the process that I have done I will..
OK, episodes 1-4 for instance, I have encoded them to vob format, so I have 4 seperate folders w/ the vob files from each episode, lets say that EVERY episode ONLY has TWO vob file...
so episode one I rename to VTS_01_001.vob & VTS_01_002
then move the 2nd episode to that folder, and name them 003 & 004, and the same w/ episode 3 and 4
so now I have 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, & 008 in that folder..
now I use VOBEDIT and open 001, then click EDIT, JOIN CLIPS and choose a new location that it will save them in, I usually name the folder VIDEO_TS, now when it is done I have something like
VTS_01_1.vob
vts_01_2.vob
vts_01_3.vob
vts_01_4.vob
And then I would load up IFOEDIT choose CREATE IFO'S and go to the video_ts folder and click on the first vob, and it will create all of the ifo files, bup files, video_TS.ifo etc...
I click on Video_ts.ifo and click GET VTS SECTORS, and then ok for all the boxes that come up, and then the same thing to VTS_01_0.ifo
and then use nero burning rom or nero express and burn a DVD VIDEO and add all of those files info the VIDEO_TS folder
Now, it is just ONE big video, I mean the chapters go from 1 to like 36, so it is hard to tell where the next episode begins, I have to search through them, the second episode might start at chapter 10, and the 3rd episode might not start till chapter 22
I have also tried the same process but put the first to episodes vob files into one folder, and the last 2 into a different folder, so both folders have 001, & 002 files, when they go through VOBEDIT, in both folders they are changed to VTS.01.1.vob & 2 vob, the second folder I have tried naming the 1.vob and 2.vob TO 3.vob, & 4.vob and moving them to the folder w/ the first 2 episodes, so then I would have 1, 2, 3, & 4.vob
But I didn't know how to do it where they ALL didn't go on the SAME TITLE, From what borax explained, if it works then I can have episodes 1 & 2 on ONE title, and 3 & 4 On title #2, I at least wanted to know how to do that, now that I have learned how to do that I can try to make it where EACH episode has IT'S OWN title, that way episode 1 has like 10 chapters, then episode 2 starts out as CHAPTER 1, NOT 11 , and episode 3 start as chapter 22 or something like that.. they should ALL start as chapter 1...
you see what I mean?
I just didn't know how to get the VIDEO_TS.ifo file to see that there were more than 1 chapter, I couldn't figure it out..
I will try out the way that borax said to do it in a lil bit and I will report back if it works or not..
"DivxtoDVD produced four VOBs does not mean that each VOB is one episode."
if you now see how I have done it you will realise that all 4 VOB files ARE the different episodes, I can double click on VTS_01_02.vob and it brings it up in WINDVD as episode 2..
I think that you thought I had all four episodes on ONE big video before I put it dvd or something.. I dont' know.. but hopefuly you see what I mean now.
"If, for whatever reason, you must have multiple titlesets, then first you need to cut your single video into 4 parts - one for each episode. If you then load all of these into DivxtoDVD, you will get 4 titlesets"
again, I have all four episodes as seperate vob files, I just didn't understand how to make it where they were all different titlesets, the way I have been doing it just makes it ALL ONE SET OF CHAPTERS, 1 - 36 or something..
The main part that I couldn't understand is how to get the VIDEO_TS.ifo files to read 2 different titles, or 4 different titles.. Cause I knew that you could have 3 differnet sets of vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder.. for instance
VTS_01_1.vob
VTS_01_2.vob
VTS_02_1.vob
VTS_02_2.vob
it's this part that I didn't know how to do.
"Delete the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP in the first folder
Now create a new videomanager with DVDFab:"
cause when getting those two sets like above, both folders had their OWN VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP
see
and I have to move the second set to the folder that has the first set, that already has IT's own VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP files..
but anyway, I hope you understand what I mean, it's just burning vob files and other formats to play in a STAND ALONE dvd player is new to me.. So, sorry if what I'm saying is confusing, and all over the place..
But, I will report back later if the info that borax gave me worked out ok
Thanx sooo much for helping out, I really appreciate it.. -
hehe, WOW
That post goes on and on don't it?
I feel like I just wrote a book, my heads about to explode -
That sounds like a lot of trouble, as borax said get TDA, it'll make your life a lot easier and it's cheap ($42 from eCost). Then you can skip the VOBEdit step and just input each episode as a chapter, if you want them to play one after the other or make a new title set for each, to return to the main menu.

Yea,
it does take ALLOT of time.. putting 4 shows on one dvd took me about 3 or 4 hours.. lol
But, I just got one more to go, w/ episodes 17, 18, & 19..
and BTW, that did work borax.. thanx again for the info..
I'll try out that program you are talking about, is there a trial up it, or do you have to buy it before you can use it? I have a program that came w/ my computer that I only got to work ONE TIME, it looks like it would be good, but I ALWAyS get some kind of error with it.. it is ARCSOFT SHOWBIZ
It lets you design a menu and all of that... it would be nice if it worked..
I have read allot of people mention Dvd Labs or whatever, is it good?
But, I just wanted to say thanx again, and to let you know that did work, I really appreciate it..
thanx guys -
If you want a freeware solution, try my Gui for dvdauthor...
Procedure:
I have every LOST episode, they are all SINGLE MPG files, or AVI,
I have been loading Episode 1 for instance in DIVXTODVD and encodeing it to VOB format, every episode I have done this way, I have been able to fit 4 episodes on one dvd, and if you want me to explain the process that I have done I will..
OK, episodes 1-4 for instance, I have encoded them to vob format, so I have 4 seperate folders w/ the vob files from each episode, lets say that EVERY episode ONLY has TWO vob file...
Join the vob files in each folder by just 'copy them together':
(Folder1)
copy /b VTS_01_1.VOB + VTS_01_2.VOB episode_1.mpg
(Folder2)
copy /b VTS_01_1.VOB + VTS_01_2.VOB episode_2.mpg
...
Start GfD and drag each episode_X.mpg from the source file list to the background. Add pictures, labels, chaptermenus...
Ok, GfD is not as easy to learn as TDA, but (for simple projects) easier than dvdlab...
Have a look to the 'stepwise guides'GUI for dvdauthor:
https://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/ -
thanx guys,
I really appreciate the info.. you guys have helped out allot. I will try those programs and take a look at the guides..
thanx again. I'll let you know if I need any help.
EDIT-
And thanx for telling me about loading all of the files at one time in DIVXTODVD, I was doing each show one at a time.. I was wondering why you said that after running them through DIVXTODVD that it makes them as different titles on it's own..
I'm going to try those other programs too..
the thing about that one program I was talking about that came w/ my computer "arcsoft showbiz" is that it would only let me put like 2 episodes on each dvd.. and that is on about the lowest quality setting.
