I have a problem that for some reason my dual layer discs burnt from an image in nero will only play on some dvd players and won't even play on the computer I burnt it on!

I created a dvd project and it was about 11gig so made the vob's etc and brought them into dvd shrink to compress it to 8.4gig. I then used nero 6 to make an image and then used nero again to burn the image. It seemed to do it fine and my dvd player plays it without a hitch, but other dvd players and even the drive i burnt it on can't play it, can't even read it.

Has this happend to anyone else?

  2. I've had ones that had the information on the disc, but didn't play on my player. But did on my computer. The I have reburned, and it's been fine. But I never use nero. I used dvddecrypter.

What discs you using? Mine were the Gold Datasafe +r.

  3. skip nero, for dual layer, stick to writing images with dvddecrypter,or copytodvd-you woulnt have to make an image out of those files,as you could have just burnt the files direct to a dvd.
dual layer is still in its infancy, and theres no 100% correct action for it yet, some discs are ok some are crap.
    some players play them,some dont.
its still not really worth the price tho,as 2 single layer discs are about 50p($1),and a dl disc can be as much as £3.50 in the uk($5-6)

  4. I just burnt a DVD-rdl and it didn't work on my panasonic E55. But it works on anything else I've tried. I'll probably just get record now 7.3 and try that. DVD decrypter is a bit touch and go, I think

Setting your dl media to dvd-rom bitsetting will likely solve most of the problem

Use IMGTool Classic to convert those files to an ISO image for DVDdecrypter to burn.

There are some guides in the GUIDE section which will show you how to do this.

  10. Just to re-ascertain what I said earlier, make sure you use the CLASSIC version and not the BURN version.
