I have just put a new set of Epson compatible inks. The ink levels are full but when I tried to print anything, no ink is coming out i.e. blank pages were printed.
What should I do? Please help.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've had the same problem with that model. I don't really know how to solve it. Make sure the tape is off the inkjet nozzle. I've done all the cleaning and alignment stuff but none of it worked.
A email from tech support said to run the head cleaining at least 3 times in a row. I haven't done it yet so I can't verify it yet.

A recent computer magazine article I read warned all inkjet/bubblejet printer users to be sure to print SOMETHING at least once a week to keep the ink nozzles from drying out. This is especially true for printers like most (all?) Epsons that have permanent ink nozzles vs. those which include new nozzles built in to the ink cartridge.
What to do if you have NOT done that and can't get it to print? Their only solution was "seek professional help."
If you are SURE your new cartridges aren't defective, and you DON'T want to "seek professional help," here's something you might try--at your own risk--based on what worked for me on an Epson C40UX color inkjet printer (it took multiple tries before I had success):
o Remove the cartridge(s) carefully and cover the ink outlet openings with tape to prevent the ink from leaking and drying out.
o Using an eyedropper or small syringe, drip a small quantity of rubbing alcohol onto the "cones" atop the print head(s) that fit into the cartridges and let the alcohol soak into the cones and, hopefully, into the inkjets.
o Wait 5-10 minutes and repeat.
o Reinstall the ink cartridge(s) and initiate the printer's head cleaning cycle.
o Try to print something.
o If nothing prints, repeat the process. (You might try using a 50:50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water to slow the alcohol's evaporation, in case it's evaporating before it soaks in and gets to the injets.)
o If all else fails, and you STILL don't want to seek professional help, you may want to try what the professional will probably do: Disassemble the printer to get to the print head and inkjet nozzles themselves. This is a risky step unless you have confidence you can reassemble the printer afterwards. You ARE risking ending up with something destined for a dumpster!
o Apply the alcohol or alcohol/water mix with a Q-tip several times. Blot the injets very lightly with a cloth (preferably a lint-proof one, available from camera stores). You will probably see the (presumably) dried ink being deposited on the cloth as the alcohol(/water) dissolves it. Continue this until you get little or no ink on the cloth.
o Reassemble the printer, reinstall the cartridges, initiate the head-cleaning process.
o Be patient because it may take awhile for the cartridge ink to work its way back through the cones (which were diluted of ink) to the inkjets and onto the paper. If successful, your first printing attempts may be very faint until the undiluted ink is available to the printhead.
o Hope for the best!
Again: This is what worked for me on an Epson C-40UX color inkjet printer. It may NOT work for you. Proceed at your own risk.
Good luck!
