I am trying to encode an avi ti mpeg trough avysinth and TMPEGenc and a very weird problem apeard. The configuration at the avysinth script is like this:
AVISource("video.avi")
LanczosResize(648,432,0,0.5)
AddBorders(36,24,36,24)
The configurations on the TMPGenc are not diferent than most people recomend and is the same i was using on a diferent coputer (and there everything was just fine)
the Steam type is Mpeg 2
the frame rate is 29,97
rate control mode is 2 pass (VBR)
The problem is this:
The encode starts normal but after a wile (that variates from time to time) a pop up apear stoping the encode process and saying thigs like this(also have some variations every time):
"read error occured at adress 00095523 of module 'TMPEnc.exe' with 273DA270"
I have no idea what that means (donīt occur EVERY time but 90% of the times i try to encode)
PLEASE can someone tell me what is going on?
I tried to dowload a bunch of codecs but nothing worked
tks

How can i do that?
I opened the file with and without avysinth in virtual dub mod and it was ok
I donīt think the file has any problem becouse this occured with many diferent files.
Please what can i do?
Tks for all the help -
Are the files all from the same source? Have you tried the same files on that other computer? Maybe you can be sure if it is computer related or file related as a first step.
Also have you looked on the left in Tools for a different encoder to try as a test?
Good Luck -
I feel that you may have an overheat problem of the cpu. Encoding is very cpu intensive, and if your cooling is not adequate or like in summer now and the ambient temp is on the high side, you may have unaccountable error like this. Try this.
Open the case of your computer to improve air circulation. Use a desk fan to blow at the cpu /motherboard. Do the same encoding, and see if the error goes away, or at least does not happen till further in time. If this makes an impact on the pattern of error you have been having, heat might have been the problem.
Also, I notice your hard drive is 40G. You need to make sure there is enough room on the temporary directory for the transient files and also enough room on the output directory to hold to finished file.
Hope this helps. -
One other thought open the case and see if you need to blow out the CPU HeatSink. I've seen AMD heatsinks that were totally blocked with dust. Moreso than Intel as the AMD seems to have more and closer spaced fins that may blockup easier.
However if it always happens at the same point in the encode on the same file then we can more or less assume that the file is damaged. If you decide to try and fix it since it is an AVI make a backup copy and work on that. Another way would be make a note of where the error appears and then use Virtualdubmod and make two files out of it, One before the problem and one after. TMPGEnc Plus for example shows where it is in the file as it processes. One other thing to try if you can find the demo version just to see if it works would be to run it through Mainconcept encoder or CCE Basic Demo. They will watermark it but if the complete the encode that becomes another data point in troubleshooting. Or try one or more of the all in one converters from the tools menu and see if they work.
BTW I agree you need more disk space.
Good Luck
