I made a previous post about a VOB that you advised needed demuxing, because it consisted of multiple tracks that werent visible apart from the first one in WMP and VEGAS.

you suggested I demux it using tmpgenc file->mpeg tools . I tried that, it generated an mp2 audio file and a m1v video file. VEGAS loaded the audio, but just shrugged its shoudlers at the m1v file.

I cant find out anywhere on this site what to do with the mv1, ie how to turn it into a MPG or an AVI.

Ive tried AGK, it just says 'mpeg 1 not supported' when i pointed it at the files.

I pointed DVD Decrypter at the original VideoTS dir, it simply copied everything from there and converted it to ..........an identicle set of VOB's (?!?!?!?!?!). I tried it in IFO, and it made a load of slightly bigger VOBs (so I didnt actually see the point of this program)

VOBMerge made me a single big VOB.

DVD Lab complained that the VOB's wer mpeg1, but wouldnt let me export them as an avi. It made an mpa and an mpv file, and again, vegas would load the audio but had no idea what to do with the mpv file.

This site contains no information about what to do with m1v or mpa files.

So im stuck, having spent several hours hitting dead ends.

Does anyone have a proved working way of extracting all the tracks out these vobs ?

The m1v/mpv file is indeed mpeg-1, not mpeg-2. DVD Lab demuxed, as you requested, but it does not do avi, either for input or output. You could try changing the extension to mpg before loading into Vegas, or load the mpv file into virtualdubmpeg and exporting as either uncompressed or lossless avi.

Ok I tried renaming it, Vegas just complained it was an unrecognised format.

After staying up till 2 AM, I discovered that WinMPEG will take the VOB in and squirt it out as a collosal AVI file. That will load into VEGASE, but strangely, the audio track is contracted by about 30%, ie you have to stretch it out to the same length as the vid and then it synchs.

So, you need to make a note somewhere for future reference, on the site. A VOB off a DVD needs converting to AVI using WinMPEG to make it usable in VEGAS 6.

Thanks for the suggestions tho, it gave me another line of attack.
