  1. OK to start off im using virtualdub 1.6.5 to combine a 2 part xvid movie. the first time i tried it said that the audio was in mp3 vbr format so i couldn't append them...ok no problem, extracted the audio to wav files for both parts and resaved the avi's with a 128kbps cbr mp3 audio stream.

tried to append the avi...now the audio where the second part of the movie begins is not lining up. but if i play the separated part the audio syncs perfectly. i notcied that the length of the audio track is not the same length as the movie...what can i do to get the audio to sync after i combine the avi.

When you open your XviD movie with mp3 vbr audio, VDub issues a message. Ignore it. VDub will open your video like a good boy. Click Video>Direct Stream Copy and then File>Append segment and open the second XviD movie similarly. Click Save As and save with a new name in the location of your choice. See the result.

    Report back what happened, please

    Thanks.

  3. Did what u said and Vdub displayed the following message

Connot append segment "File": The audio streams have different sampling rates (12542.00000 vs. 12494.00000)

I tried to see if vdub could append the avi if i put the audio in full processing mode so that it would change the audio from vbr to cbr...DIDN't work same message displayed

Yes, the parameters (video frame rate and audio sampling rates) need to be same for joining media files in VDub. Download SSRC v1.30 and equalize samplerates of your audio.

    Thanks.
