I just bought my new computer, new everything, including a Geforce 6800 Ultra. The problem I have is when I play movies, the color is faded out, and sort of negative looking. The only way to fix it it seems, is if I open up the movie in one player (like windows media player) and then open it up again in like Winamp or something. The second time I open it, its perfect. I have downloaded K-Lite codec pack.

This happens with any sort of movie, except for .mov it seems. DVDs, mpegs, avi, all are glitched. I have downloaded the latest NVidia drivers, and everything else looks fine, im on 32 bit color and all the games I play are fine. Any help?

Did you install the CODEC pack? All of it???

If you install the entire pack all sorts of bad things can happen when conflicting CODECS cross up. You should only install CODECS from the pack as you specifically require them.

To fix the problem all you have to do is go to color correction in the
NVIDIA driver software go to Apply color changes to and select "All" and
    then click Apply.

This should fix the video being too bright with the normal drivers by
    default.

To locate that option: Control Panel -> Display Icon -> Settings Tab ->
Advanced Button -> GeForce Tab -> Popup Window to the left, Click on Color Correction

The newest drivers ( Forceware 77.72) for geforce cards causes the gamma setting to be set too high by default for overlay setting which makes video's look washed out.
