As I cannot keep all DVDs for myself, I create their backups by compressing them into AVI format. Now, when I try playing these files on WinDVD 6, the Audio Booster feature is disabled.
The only alternative I've is to re-encode the AVI to MPEG1(VCD or standard), and then watch in WinDVD 6, as Audio Booster feature is enabled for MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format movies. But since MPEG1-vcd or standard doesn't have the video quality(in terms of resolution) as an AVI file, I would not resort to that method.
Is there any method of enabling Audio Booster feature in WinDVD 6 while playing AVI files, as I couldn't find a software better than WinDVD which could provide such an excellent extra audio feature ?
or
Pls suggest a software(other than WinDVD) which can play AVI files with the extra audio support feature analogous to Audio Booster(like in WinDVD).

However, these filters(ffdshow) are allowing MPEG1-VCD(re-encoded from AVI) video to play with excellent quality(again I mean about De-blocking and resolution), but strangely only in Windows Media Player. Thankfully, the small blocks aren't appearing while playing the 720 X 400 resolution MPEG1 -VCD file (I've not mistaken. Yes it is 720 X 400 MPEG1 - VCD, I know it looks quite different from standard MPEG1- VCD which generally has 352 X 240 resolution and, ofcourse looks far better) in Windows Media Player. So, it's a great news that small blocks aren't appearing while playing this file in WMP. But, strangely they continue to appear in WinDVD player.
In a way, I passed the first stage of eliminating small blocks in a 720 X 400 resolution MPEG1-VCD file by using ffdshow filters that too while playing the video in WMP only.
Now, in case, I can eliminate the small blocks while playing the same video in WinDVD, then, my problem is solved, as WinDVD will anyway allow the Audio Booster to be enabled while playing an MPEG1-VCD file.(which ofcourse is my final aim)
So, if there is a way by which the small blocks can be eliminated even in WinDVD while playing the re-encoded MPEG1-VCD file, then my problem is solved completely, and my effort to play a 720 X 400 resolution MPEG1 - VCD video in WinDVD without having any small blocks and with the Audio Booster enabled, will become fruitful.
Guys, pls help !!
