    Hey all!

Just received my PHILIPS 42PF9946 42" plasma TV and I'm really stoked with the size and picture quality.

One thing bothers me though, the sound appears to be slightly ahead of the picture by about 0.1 sec and the sync scew seems to get bigger when there's more action and closer when there are slow scenes.

I read that plasma TVs have a problem converting analog sources to digital in time with the sound, but I didn't expect this to be the case with digital satelite or DVD sources via SCART.

Any ideas? Or should I just get an amp and speakers that can delay the sound. After spending £1300, I really don't think I should have to for out more...
    Regards,

    Rob

If the delay was always the same it could be corrected but are you really seeing variable delay with motion?

I never heard that one before. I'd consult the dealer that sold you the set or Philips about the problem. Maybe there is audio delay compensation built into the set.

The source of the problem is probably the internal deinterlacer that kicks in for interlaced inputs. You shouldn't be seeing delay from progressive sources (DVD, etc.).

    Wierd...........

Seems to have sorted itself out - still get the odd moment of out of sync but nothing like when I first used it.

Naturally, Philips CS were useless - I'd have to send the TV back

    Thanks for the advice guys
    Regards,

    Rob
