  1. Hello,

I have today got two questions after learning to use AviSynth:

    1) The Bob deinterlace with AviSynth is extremely smooth and just like watching the footage from a TV. However, I figured out that it's now 50 fps Is there any way I could get the same smooth footage now back to 25 fps for exporting to WMV? Playing in 50 fps would take a lot of more space and is quite pointless.

    2) I downloaded the SmoothDeinterlacer() for AVS and for some reason VirtualDub immediately quits when I load the .avs file which contains SmoothDeinterlacer commands. Any suggestions how to get rid of this?

    Thanks a lot!

  2. 1) there is no way, unless you re-interlace the video, but I don't know if wmv support interlacing. IIRC there is an avisynth procedure to blend every other frame, but I hate blended frames.
    2) well, no idea. Be sure you are using the right version (for avisynth 2.5x I mean). If you have the plugin in the plugin folder (autoloading) try to move it in another folder and use LoadPlugin() command - sometimes it helps.

  3. Thanks. The plugin already is in another folder, but will try in the default folder then.

But what is the BEST de-interlacing method for AviSynth then and if possible, maybe you can point me to a tutorial for it? I know it's a soooooo stupid question and answered sooo many times, but honestly, I did Google yesterday for hours and still didn't get what I was looking for.

For avisynth Google is of a little help. Better spend hours at http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=33

  5. Oh Thanks. I'm currently deinterlacing with Decomb521 and it seems to me like it gives the best results - the smallest number of mouse teeth, just a little motion-caused blending and overally looks good. I just tried the DGBob and KernelDeinterlace as well, but those didn't give so good quality in my opinion...
