conversion question.

i have been browsing these forums for sometime and have learned lots. i am using virtualdubmod, CCE, TMPGEnc dvd author, and have found the besweet and ac3 machine tools.
my question is when joining multiple avi's (xvid) that are the same except for the audio sampling rates, (i know i need to strip audio out) how do i synch the audio after using besweet and ac3 machine?

Why are you joining ? What is that you want to achieve in the end after joining. Are you converting the AVIs to some other format ? You need to give more details.

You may have to extract the audio and change the sampling rate before joining.

each of the files i want to join are anywhere from 10 min to 45 min each. i suppose i could author it as different chapters with a selectable menu. but i was wondering if there was any benefit to making one long avi before i convert and author to dvd.

There is no benefit in joining the files. If each file is a separate movie or episode then author it with a selectable menu.

Even if the files are part of one movie then also author them separately without menu. Your DVD palyer will play them sequentially.
