hi all,
i have been capturing my old vhs tapes using the win dvd software that came wiht my plextor PX-AV100U and the quality is just awful....i have downloaded virtual dub and in capture mode i have enabled some of the filters and the quality is a lot better but the problem is when i click "capture" the video on the screen is split into two thin strips and when i play i back in windows media it also shows up as a thin strip of video.
when the capture is turned off the video is displayed as a full square.....anybody know how to fix this? any help would be greatly appreciated...

Your MUCH better off, at least this is how i do it, and it works like a charm every time, capturing first then filtering the video out later......to me it sounds like one of the filters you got turned on is doing something to the video that you dont want it to...it would help a bit if we knew exactly which filters you had turned on...
