Hi,
I have an avi file which needs a codec which doesn't seems to be divx 5 (just downloaded the newest) or mpeg 4. Is there any way to find out which codec was used to create the file?
And, is there a package which contains all the codecs there exist?
I just installed "ACEMCP601PRO.exe" which I found, but apparently this doesn't contains the necessary codec.
Thanks in advance

Thanks , but none of the two can detect the coder (while they could detect the coedecs for other avi's I still had) - so I guess the file is broken...
too bad...
Thanks again. At least I'm sure now.

Try opening the file in virtualdub. It may give you a "Cannot locate decompressor for XXXX" message, where XXXX is the FOURCC code of the codec used.
If in doubt, Google it.
