    Hi all,

I got some chinese TV-clips in .RMVB- and .RM-format.
In order to put them on DVD, to make them watchable on TV, I tried to convert them to .MPG using EO-Video. In most cases (.RMVB) this works fine.
But for these .RM-Files EO-Video gets near the end of the conversion the message "Warning. Unexpected video stream end in source file. File may be corrupted". The output-mpg file (watched in Winamp and Mediaplayer) has complete sound and correct length, but shows only the start-frame.The corresponding Input-RM-files play well. I also tried ASF-AVI-RM-WMV-Repair on these files, which says, it has repaired, but the repeired file isn't convertable either.
Trying to produce only video (.AVI) with EO-Video results in error "Can't read frame" always at the same timestamp of source input very close to beginning (av. 65/100 sec).
Trying to produce only video (.MPG) EO-Video gets nor error, but no output is written.
    So my questions are:
    Is the input-file corrupt ?
Is there any chance to get this into .MPG-Format ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Delta

See if you can play it back via mplayer. If it can play it back, then mencoder should convert it ok. Could also try converting via dshow with say TMPGEnc as an encoder.

    Partly solution found.
    Mplayer and Mencoder didn't work.
But after I installed RealtimeSplitter on my system I was able to do the conversion (RM)VB -> MPEG via TMPGENC.
But there are still some problems: When using a SVCD as target format, I get the warning "GOP too long ..." After I ignored this I was able to biuld DVD structure with TMPG DVD-Author. But playing this DVD on my standalone player, every VOB derived from an RM-file freezes after 4-5 minutes.
So I tried the conversion (RM)VB -> MPEG with DVD as target format. Here I get no GOP-Warning. But the resulting DVD stiil freezes after 4-5 minutes when playing the VOBs derived from RM. Those VOBs from RMVB-files play fine.
    Any suggestions are welcome !
