I placed an order on 12/22, and I have received NO EMAILS from them regarding my order (other than the confirmation email on 12/22). It's been two weeks. No tracking number, just the order showing up on the "My Account" page. They are starting to irritate me.

I don't buy anything from them anymore ...after their shady cover-up of media manufacturers of their cheap media.
Rima gets all my business now -
Well, I found out what happened. Called yesterday and asked them why I hadn't received any emails asking about my order.
They didn't know.
In addition, the order was never even processed.
So, they say they will ship the stuff out immediately.
Great, I'm thinking. About F'ing time.
Then, about an hour later, I get a call explaining they are out of the particular cases I ordered, and have been for over a week. I said, you know that would have been polite of you to email me about the situation, instead of just letting my order sit somewhere in cyberspace with no info.
No response.
Then, after telling them I'd really appreciate it if the partial order was shipped as quickly to me as possible, this would be good.
They ship it UPS GROUND.
WTF is going on. I think I'm looking for another media provider. In the past 6 months, I've had 3 orders missing or shipped wrong merchandise (one order was all Princo versus the ProDisc), and this last order makes it 4 times. -

Well, you've made it public on a video editing board (and probably the busiest one of all). They may lose a fair bit of business by treating one customer so poorly.
To those in the UK - avoid www.ukdvdr.co.uk - they are unhelpful, poor at replying to e-mails and misrepresent media codes. I've tried www.blankdiscshop.co.uk - they seem to answer my questions quickly, but I'll let you all know once I recieve and confirm my order. -

Just have to speak up for Shop4tech. I've bought a fair amount of DVD's from them with no problems at all. Never had any delivery problems and so haven't had to deal with customer service.
Now, that doesn't mean that the DVD-R's have all been high quality, but that's why I research the various brands before I buy. You generally get what you pay for with the cheap stuff -- though the old Prodiscs were rock solid.
Trying out some Ritek printables for the first time and they came in today.

Just ordered 200 blank dvds last month they were right on time. No complaints from me.

I've ordered from Shop4Tech before- I don't like their media, but I do like the cases. The disc locks in place much nicer than the meritline cases I'd been using prior.
Media wise, the stuff I've gotten from them, I'm not impressed with. I had a problem and they gave me a 10% off code my next orderI doubt I'll order from them anymore.
Cuban Cigars, Women and Movies.... What a wonderful combination!... I have a web site, and I've seen it... HAVE YOU!?

Cobra,
Well, here's the thing. I've spent over $500 with them in the past 8 months. Normally, I don't post interactions with businesses, but in this case, I think it's appropriate because I see a pattern (among the first was Prodisc media code issue).
They used to be awesome, and always got my order dispatched out to me. But over the past 3 months, things have changed there. I don't know why they are becoming less attentive and more slacking and not informing longtime customers of order postponements, but I'm becoming disappointed. -
It is very unfortunate when a company you have come to trust and rely on go down the tubes, especially in terms of service. I know what it is like - the same thing has happened to me.
Let us know what they say.
Good luck to you,
Cobra -
I've noticed orders going south there lately, as well. Stupid mixups without follow-up where stuff wasn't shipped. Last order, I caught Cindy there either outright lying or just being god-awful stupid. I'm going to give Rima a shot, although their prices aren't as cheap.

I also use their case inserts and will continue unless I can find the "CD Stomper" brand and style they sell elsewhere which so far I cant. I never buy media from them. I only buy TY's from RIMA.
Good luck and let us know the quality of the cases when you receive them if you get a chance...

I realize this thread is more than a few months old; but I had just received a batch of TY discs from Shop4Tech. In the product description page nowhere was it indicated that the discs were hub-printables; but just to be sure, when I placed the order I had included special instructions, asking them to please NOT send me the hub-printable discs, because I wanted the hub not-printable type.
Apparently nobody there bothered to read my special instructions, and they sent me the TY hub-printables anyway. I wanted to send back the product; but if I were to process the RMA online, I'd have to agree to pay the shipping charge to send back something they shouldn't have sent me in the first place. So yesterday I called Shop4Tech's so-called "friendly" customer service staff person, and I was basically told it was my own fault that I didn't call them to verify first (so what's the point of having online ordering and a space for special instruction then?) and the order had already gone though that there's nothing they can do about it.
I am referring my case to my credit card company; but I'd like everyone to know about my experience. I would definitely not ever shop with this company again.

Now I'm getting worried. I ordered on the 12th and I still have not gotten any shipping info. I only got the order confirmation like the other user said.
-
Try logging into the web site with your account ID and order # -- I never got a confirmation either, but the tracking button showed up in my account information a couple of days after I placed the order. Had I not done that, though, I wouldn't have known about the status of my order either.
Good luck, hopefully your experience will be better than mine.

I just placed two seperate orders with them yesterday on my lunch break. One for two of the TY Value Packs and one for 100 slim dual DVD cases.
Before now I've only ordered cases from them. $23 shipped for 100 slim dual cases is the cheapest I've found. I've never had any problems with them.
I avoided buying media there because of some of the horror stories. But I decided to give them a try because my last order from supermedistore contained a bunch of defective discs and meritline's shipping is a joke- 200 shattered and scracthed discs? No Thanks! I did get some of the value TYs from Rima (where I buy real TYs) about a month ago but they stopped selling them.
If the discs from shop4tech come scratched or are poor quality, I will just switch to real TYs only from rima. They really aren't that much more expensive.
Anyway, I checked "my account" today and I have 2 UPS tracking numbers with a due date of June 21. So no problems so far. -
I will never order anything from them again. They never reply to emails and when they do they aren't any help. I tried for 3 months to get an RMA for an ink cartridge that was unopened and leaking into the sealed bag...they never did answer me or give me a refund/exchange.

Maybe the non-printables cost less; but when it comes to the inkjet-prinatbles, even with the free ground shipping, shop4tech's TY still comes out costing more. I was only willing to pay extra because I wanted the white hub not-printables, which neither Rima nor Supermediastore carry any more.

UPS obviously places great emphasis on speed. Proper package handling does not seem to be high on thier priority list. -
My order(Shop4Tech)which just came friday was a spindle wrapped in large bubble wrap and then wrapped in a lot of brown paper. The brown paper was bulky and provided good protection. It was much more than needed.

long time lurker here. just had to comment w/ my 2 cents as i've bought from shop4tech 6 or 7 times within the last year and haven't had any problems. just like dafoe and dmagic my orders have come quickly and have been packaged safely. i agree about ups though, i got a package from them yesterday and saw the guy walking up to my porch and through the window saw him drop the top package on the ground. i don't think they care much. but as far as shop4tech goes, i've purchased from them for both myself and my company and just haven't had any issues. Their bizrate reviews are excellent also which would seem to say a lot since if i recall there were many thousands of reviews - the majority of which were positive. Just my 2 cents, if it ain't broke don't fix it so I'm glad I'm fine.
yes, whatever! -
Just a more general comment - Consider the total number of opinions. Throw out the ones that are too negative; they may have an ax to grind. Throw out the ones that are too positive; they may be shills. The broader general consensus is usually more accurate.

Well, I wrote an email to the management at Shop4Tech.com last week, and got an automated response stating they will get back to me within 2 business days. It's been a week and I have yet to receive a reply.
