I d/l some .avi files that apparently contain .xvid. When I try to play them through WMP, they reboot my computer. I've joined them using VIrtualDubMod, and, am in process of converting/burning the combined file to DVD. Will this solve the problem, or, will there still be problem, or, new ones?
Will these xvid files play through something like Nero Showtime, or, power DVD before converting? Or, do I need to do something to allow these files to play on anything on the computer.

You will need to have an xvid codec installed, then they should play fine.
