  1. i have an ATI 9200.
i connected it to my VCR.
i got the picture and sound on my PC but when i click "record" it wont capture anything.

i tried it with Ulead video studio and it says

  2. If this is a commercial, Macrovision-pretected tape, then nothing is wrong and the card is functioning as it is intended to in order to satisfy legal requirements.

In previous versions, this could be solved by a software hack and/or a SCM or similar device. SFAIK, there is no fix for the 9000 series cards.

Though I should note I have a 7500 and so have not looked for 9000 solutions. It was interesting that with my card, the SCM removed all visual evidence of Macrovision, but I still got the "no record" message. The software hack prevented this.

Are you certain you have properly set the cable type in both softwares?
