    Hi!
I have a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe capture board.
Due to sync problems with Studio software, I'm using Scenalyzer Live, as it's the only one that works with my board (as far as I'm concerned).

It captures well, with no sync problems. However, I can see very oftenly, during the footage, some punctual and acute noises. When these noises occur, it also skips the image a little bit forward.

I have a Pentium 3 550 MHz, 384 MB RAM, HD 120 GB Seagate Barracuda, motherboard ASUS P3BF. I recognize it's a little slow. Do you think there is anything to do with my computer configuration? Or what do you think may be the problem?

    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

A little slow is an understatement. I would suggest that both the processor and the memory are too low for happy video capture. You need a decent amount of memory to allow for buffering while it writes to the HDD, and enough grunt to keep things ticking over. Adding more memory might help, but I'd seriously consider a new motherboard, CPU and memory.

From what source are you capturing? VHS?
Try to do some captures from a stable source like a clean tuner signal.
See if that works without problems.

For working with Scenalyzer Live the system is fast enough.

    Hi!
    Thanks for the help!
    I'm capturing from VHS sources.
Do you really think theses noises are due to slow CPU? Or maybe the source?
You know, disregarding these noises, the capture is perfect! It doesn't even show sync problems, as I have with Studio.

    Thanks again!
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

It's probably only a problem with the source.
Some capturecards react differently on bad segments from a VHS source.
I have captured with Scenalyzer Live with even much lower system specs.
Best would be just to cut out the noisy segments.

Again , If you try to capture from a clean source (tuner/dvd) all will be probably fine.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "tuner" source?
How can I capture from these clean sources, as the original one is VHS?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

Tune your VHS recorder into a good quality channel without playing a tape.
Just a test to see if you can capture that without problems.

Is TV broadcast an example of that? Then I capture that signal from the output of the VHS recorder, right (not playing tape)?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

    Hi!
I tested capturing from broadcast TV, and the problem persisted.

Do you think that disabling the antivirus and firewall would help?

Or maybe if I capture to a harddrive different from the one where the OS is?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.
