  1. I'm having a problem with audio in DVDs that I make. It has a buzzing type background noise throughout the whole DVD, I never had that buzzing type audio background noise in my DVDs like I do now. Do you think it could mean I need new speakers and an audio cord? I notice when I turn my speakers on, it makes a similar buzzing noise...I don't know how to fix it.

could be a ground problem. does it sound like a constant 60 cycle hum? you can try reversing the wall plugs or running a ground wire to connect all devices. also make sure to use 3 prong plugs whenever possible and check the outlets with a testing device if possible.

  3. I can't really describe the noise other then just a constant buzz..how would I run a ground wire and what kind of testing device would I use? I've never done that before. Do you think it could mean I need new speakers and an audio cord connecting the vcr to the computer?

a constant buzz sounds like a ground hum. it's fixable if you can find the ungrounded device.

testing devices can be found at home depot/radio shack type places. it's just a little dongle you plug in to the outlet and it tells you if it's wired properly. like on this page.

you can try using the center screw of a power outlet to run a ground wire from, or the metal exterior screw connector of a cable tv line.
