Subject says it all. I painstakingly introduced markers to all the points in my Premiere Pro project where I wanted a chapter stop in the resultant video file on the DVD. Then I exported the project through Cinema Craft Encoder SP. I didn't see any specific option to force I-frames at markers, so I had to assume that CCESP does this automatically. The only option I've found which even mentions I-frames is "restrict auto I frame insertion", which sounds like I should leave it at its default UNchecked.
It turns out my markers were totally ignored, so the entire encoding process was time wasted.
HOW can I force CCESP to use I-frames at Premiere Pro's markers? Any help appreciated. (This is CCESP v2.67.00.23) Thanks!

No idea but CCE's manual I frame insertion is done via the chapters list option. On the main encoding settings tab click settings next to the input file name. Double click on the file and scroll through the movie and hit set to insert a chapter, aka I-Frame. See if there is an option for importing from Premiere there. I'm using an older version of CCE so the procedure might be a little different.

you can import the I frames as text file or manually -
slightly different method in 2.70 , but same general idea
upgrade your 2.67 CCE to 2.70 ... lot of new things and some bugs fixed"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
I believe CCE used, as a plugin, wasn't made for instant chapter creations, regardles of sequence markers..
Perhaps you'd have better luck with the MainConcept encoder that comes with Premiere..
Another option would be to authour separately, and add chapter points at this end..
But i'm guessing you already knew that.. -
doesnt work w/ MC encoder either

I saw a visual tutorial, in where the clip was encoded straight off the timeline, and burned onto DVD. That being said, the sequence markers added the chapter points. Sort of a sales pitch for realtime burning.
Perhaps it was a Matrox, or other hardware product that was responsible for my preconceived notion...
Good luck!! -
yes - chapters , not I frames ... the chapters went to the closest I frame at the beginning of a GOP (for example - not frame 34565, but the closest I frame to it)
same thing in vegas - irritates me , because i need chapters on specific I frames exactly ...
this is for sure the method in vegas and i think in premiere also - correct me if im wrong .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
