I am looking into getting the AiW 9800 Pro and noticed it said AGP as the connection thing. Does it go into a PCI Slot or do I need a special slot for it?

If it says AGP, then it will only fit into a AGP slot, no PCI. It would replace your present video card.

But the thing is, my current Video Card is an integrated one, so I don't think it uses a slot.

  4. You need to check inside and see for certain. Some computers running integrated do not have an AGP slot. However there are quite a few that do. They are designed to give you a cheap system with the possibility to upgrade later. There is a chance you have an AGP slot in the PC. Just take the cover off and look for a different colored slot above the PCI slots. It's usually brown.

It's also usually off set from the Rest of the PCI slots (which are generally white). It should be the top-most slot in your case.

Yes, it's going to be the new standard (eventually). Most of thehigh-end boards now have dual PCI-E slots for SLI video cards. Obviously, you end up with one less PCI slots. It's mostly for gamers right now, but wasn't almost all high-end hardware at some point, with the exception of the dedicated stuff, like capture cards, decoder cards, etc.

I have a board with PCI-E, and from experience, I can tell you theres not alot of difference in terms of performance.

However, one benefit i can mention of using PCI-E is that if you purchase a mid-range graphics card, theres no need to use an external power supply for the GPU, whereas for the AGP version, you would need one.

You probably would not notice any performance improvemnt unless you're a gamer.
