  1. Hi guys,

I've been backing up some of my TV DVDs, and have run into a problem with multiple episodes showing up as a single title on DVD Shrink.

I usually rip with DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0., then load the files up on DVDShrink 5.2.

Going into the Main Movie I select half the episodes at "No Compression," and replace the remainder with a static image before burning disk 1. I then do the reverse with the episodes on disk 2, giving me two disks with uncompressed episodes, and full menus.

However, I've found that with some disks DVDShrink only presents one entry under Main Movie - a single title track incorporating all the episodes.

Can anyone suggest a way to select the compression I want for each episode individually, rather than as a block? I really want to retain the original menus, but don't want to have to go through a lengthy reauthoring process as I've a lot of disks to get through.

    All advice gratefully received.

  2. Just select each episode that you don't want and compress it to still pictures. The menus won't change, and you'll have something for each menu entry, just some of them will only be still pictures.
If you want the unused episodes completely gone, use VOBBlanker to blank the unwanted episodes, leave the menus alone and then use DVDShrink. VOBBlanker is free. Nyah Levi

  3. Nelson133 - you haven't quite grasped the problem.

What you've suggested is what I usually do. However, with some disks I'm finding I don't have the option of selecting each episode individually because they're presented as one single unified title block.

You can't do it with Shrink without killing the menus. If you are happy to kill the menus then it's easy. Just drag the title across in reauthor mode, the right-click and change the start and end points. It will probably process quicker than the way you have been doing it.

If you must keep everything else intact, then look at VobBlanker. It might allow you to blank out the chapters in the title that make up the different episodes.

DVD95COPY and CloneDVD will do what you, split the episodes and retain working menus. They are both pay programs, around 40-45 dollars each.
