My Fujitsu-Seimens laptop (Lifebook E4010) has a problem. The area under the wrist (as shown in picture) gets so warm that it becomes irritating to work. At first I thought that the CPU was under that area, but that area is a slot meant for the PCMCIA card. Don't know what to do - other than getting an external keyboard.

I use a hanky. But it is infuriating all the same. The other reason for this post is to be aware that some laptops may exhibit the same problem and potential buyers should be aware. Not that I purchased this one - it is my office laptop.

Some of the larger laptops are pushed as 'desktop replacement' mechines. They use desktop CPUs in a laptop chassis. These chassis' aren't designed to cool a desktop CPU, so the unit can get very hot. They really are just a portable desktop, not a loptop (unless 2nd degree burns are your thing)
