To Whom it May Concern:
Is there a software package that allows for capture to MPEG 2 in real time? I have a winnov videum 1000 card and P4 1.8GHZ machine. Thanks

Wincoder does MPEG2, although I've only tested MPEG1.
The VCD and XVCD I made were well below what TMPGEnc gives me, but then, it takes 5x longer (4x encode in addition to capture).
I couldn't get PowerVCR to work - kept giving me nonstandard 368x240 resolution for VCD.
Cineplayer 2.51 also wouldn't work - wouldn't see my Sony D8 cam.
I can't test a DVD rate in my player yet. One thing I'd like to do upon getting a DVD burner is offer cheap & cheerful dubbing of home movies to DVD. Can't do that with TMPGEnc while charging little unless I'm working for peanuts. I'll haveta start looking at cards...
