  1. Hi,

    I have a strange problem that occurs when I hook my dvd recorder to my analog satellite receiver or vcr.

    The dvd recorder is not plugged on the same power as the vcr or sartellite receiver.

    Here is what I get when thet are hooked (it's taken from the dvd recorder but I have the same display on the tv).

    On this picture, the "white" horizontal bars move slowly upwards.

    On this picutre the picture "jumps" and the colorful artifact move downwards.

    On this, the picture is deformed by a kind of big wave.

    All these 3 things appears at the same time.

    This only occurs when my dvd recorderd is hooked to the satellite/vcr.

    Now, here is how the are connected

    Code:
    Analog Satellite => scart1 => output to AV1 of TV set
                            => scart2  => output to DVD Recorder
    VCR => scart1 => AV2 of TV set or to DVD recorder when needed
    Satellite/TV/VCR are connected to the same power plug (with a multiplug).

    My DVD recorder is connected to the same powerplug as my computer
    Code:
    PowerPlug => multiplug => Plug1 => UPS => Computer
                                       => Plug2 => DVD Recorder
    Now, when these artifact appears, if I unplug the UPS and replug it they disappear for several days. I absolutely need to unplug the UPS (power it down and up won't resolve the problem).

    What may be the source of this problem ??

    Thanks

  4. I've made several tests by pluggin muy devices to others power points in the house.

    It seems that all the power plugs on the same circuit cause problems. I tried pluggin it with a long power cable to another point in the house and there is no problems.

    So how can I resolve this problem ? It's quite annoying when I want to record something because I need to unplug my UPS (and the computer at the same time).

    How can I fix this ground loop or how can I test the efficiency of the ground in, my sleeping room ??

    Thanx
