  1. i thought i read somewhere that it is better to burn dvds (dvd-r single layer or dual layer mainly single) with decrypter than with nero. Is this true and why? Also how do i burn with decrypter. is there a guide someone can point me to

    dvddecrypter guides:
if you have a iso file,
    mode->iso->write

if you have a authored video_ts folder,
    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=440&howtoselect=3;25#440

if you want to make data dvd using something else.

  4. Someone actually did a comparison a while back on this. I don't know if that's what those links are for though, I didn't look. There is a thought that burning with one particular program may yield a better burn than others.

  5. Decrypter just has a better more stable burn engine. Nero is hit or miss for a lot of people. Depending on what version you use and your system itself, Nero can work just fine or have no end of problems. Decrypter has been stable on just about any setup I've seen.

  6. While Nerd works fine for me, except that it comflicts with DVDAuthor's burn engine, I still use the Decrypter burn engine where possible because it's just easier to run. Nyah Levi

  7. So no one has compatability issues on standalone dvd players when using decrypter

I use DVDDecrypter, TMPGEnc DVD Author or Nero to burn, and all of them work flawlessly. I personally don't think any of them burns better (or worse, for that matter) than any other. I have a Pioneer 107 and use RITEK G05s with excellent results burning-wise.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I have no problems with decrypter or nero right now, my dvd's work on four different standalones that i've tested them on but a friend of mine says he can't burn more than one avi to disc at a time with nero. He has a lot of coasters in his back room.

    I too, use...

    DVDdecrypter to burn DVD back-ups
TMPGEnc DVD Author to author and burn DVDs and
    Nero to make data DVDs.

I have two different Liteon burners and have no problems burning Ritek data DVDs but if I try to burn a movie DVD on Ritek media (G4 or G5), they all end up being coasters, using both DVDdecrypter and TDA.

It has way more to do with burner and media compatibility than which program you use to burn with. The reason that I use the programs I do for different needs is ease of use. I can't say how Nero burns a movie DVD since I only use Nero for data DVD ( data CD and music CD) but I would assume that all three programs would burn with no problems.

At this point, DvdDecrypter is the only dvd burning program I use, and I haven't had any problems, either in the burn process, or with compatability.
To burn a dvd video file structure to disk, ImgTools Classic (which shells DvdDecrypter) works great.
To burn a dvd data disk, first convert to an iso with Folder2Iso, and then burn with DvdDecrypter.

  12. I use DVDdecrypter all day everyday and never had a problem.
Wouldnt even consider using anything else.
