    Should probably work just as any other VCD to DVD conversion": Rip the mpg1 out (VCDGear or IsoBuster), author as DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVD-Lab Pro.

    KVCD may not be to spec for DVD (probably not), so something like SVCD2DVD may be needed.

    KVCD is just an XVCD. The "creator" of that "format" named it after himself for ego reasons. It's not a format of any kind. I could slap video on a disc and call it LSVCD and it's be the same scenario.

    It's just horridly out of spec MPEG on a disc that may or may not play on a player.

    It's almost as generic as saying "can I convert this disc".

    I would suggest, if you are unsure as to the res/bitrate/etc of the disc, you open a file in GSPOT and see what's going on there. Unlike VCD or DVD, there are not specs.

    Herein lies some of your confusion over how to proceed.

    SVCD2DVD should work, because it basically just takes MPEG data and make it compliant for DVD, but any encoder will do the same, just less automated.

    And as always, good luck.

    What was the problem with svcd2dvd?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Have you tried just authoring it? That so many apps refuse to accept the source as valid input, indicates it wont work, but I always try the easiest method first...
