so i decided to wait it out, then i fell asleep, woke up 6 hrs later, still the same thing, i got the impression that something was not rite...then i tried using my other drive, same thing, then i tried trying the first part of the DVD and still the same thing! does anyone have any advice, please post. thanks...

    Hi everyone!

skip2mylou i encountered that problem aswell.

dr divx doesnt convert dvd to divx "on the fly" unless you use anydvd or similar tool, so i was using dvd shrink to copy my dvds to the hard drive
and then converting it to divx.

that specific problem appeared when i decided one time to copy the dvd to my hard drive but without separating the vobs in 0.99 gig chunks.

after i checked the option to separate the dvd in 0.99 gig pieces everything went smoothly again.

    Forget Dr DivX-- use AutoGordianKnot
ive been using dr divx for a long time and to the date i have yet to find a similar program that can beat it in simplicity and easy of use.

Autogk/auto gordian never worked with me,loads of options confusing and instable, far too much options when the goal is to backup to divx and watch it on a dvd divx player.

9 out of 10 to dr divx.(9 because theres nothing perfect)

last but not least it does work for me

ok thanks for the reply. so do u recommend i use DVDShrink to first rip the DVD to my HD and select the option in DVDShrink to sepertate the VOBS into 0.99 GB chunks (pls tell me where this option is ex. EDIT/OPTIONS...) and then use Dr. DivX on the VOBS ripped from the DVD? thanks so much...

after ripping the dvd with either shrink or decrypter, then open dr divx, file mode, open your first vob, select audio, select home profile and size or let drdivx pick the optimal size and voilá
