Also nero will only give me the option of burning at mx 2.4 2 or 1 speed, even when i open up disc juggler the maximum speed is 4. Firmware ersion is 1.40. Any help appreciated.

Depending on which version of Stomp you have it is possible to get it to work with a Pioneer 109, there's a thread on here about the 4.5 version anyway. Update Nero and Disc Juggler to the latest versions, should do the trick.

do you have blank DVD media that will support anything higher than a 2.4X speed?
the DVD writer identifies the max recording rating from the info on the DVD+R.
for example, i have a TDK 420N... it will record at 4X, but the disks i have are rated 2.4...
when i put a disk in, it always locks out anything higher than 2.4X
im kinda new here so someone correct me if im wrong..
and i was curious if there was a way around that.. can you black out the boot ring(i dont know what its called) and record at 4X anyways?computer sciences
