  1. I have a Panasonic DMRE65EBS and have just finished putting some home video footage (VHS) onto dvd-r, using the SP mode, with a scart cable going from the VCR to the DVD Recorder.

Everything seemed fine when I played the DVD after it had finalised, then I noticed that all the way through the disc, every minute or so, the footage would go into slow motion for a split second then carry on as normal. This is repeated all the way through the DVD.

Can anyone please help - I'm new to using a DVD Recorder.

The disc used was a datawrite printable 4X.

Try a different brand of media. It is likely that your player is having difficulty reading from that media.

  4. I've had the same problems, the answer is that it is not your recorder or your discs. It is your dvd player. A lot of older or lower cost dvd players have trouble playing back dvdr's that were recorded at high/variable bitrate. The Panasonic recorders have that variable bitrate recording feature so this happens a lot with discs recorded on Panasonics. When your player is playing back the disc and the bitrate changes, the player's processor can't handle it so it does that 'slow down' hesitation. All my players do this too and I couldn't figure out why untill a friend explained it to me.
