Which one of these are goodAor capturing tv/vhs to the comp, then I'm gonna convert the files to dvd. I'm thinking about the Pinnacle MovieBox 9, but its only gotten 1 review back so far. I don't plan on spending over $100?on a capture card. That one looks pretty decent IMO.

How about the ones here ? http://www.canadacomputers.com/cc/i...d=pl&id=CC.344$ don't think they're that great tho compared to the Pinnacle one.

Any recommendation on those 2 sites or elsewhere like ncix, etc?

  2. Hauppauge PVR-150/250/350 or 500 (or even the USB-2).
    All have hardware mpeg-2 encoding.
There are others, but I haven't researched them at all.
I DO know that the pinnacle moviebox got horrible reviews.

    p.s. I have a PVR-250 for sale.

  4. I have the WinTv PVR2 usb, spend the extra money for the Hauppauge You'll thank yourself later for that. It does all formats of capture and is really easy to set up the first time if you read the Quick Installation Guide.

  5. I just received my Turtle Beach Video Advantage USB yesterday and so far, so good. I bought it from Amazon. It uses USB 2.0, the image looks very sharp and the audio is crystal clear. You might want to consider it as an option for something under $100. I'll post more about the device as I get more experience with it.

  6. I've been using the Hauppauge 350 which I am very pleased with. However, if you want to save a few $$$, the 150 is very good also.
I'm not crazy about the software that comes with it and use another package.

Under $100 is dangerous territory. Expect disappointment.
PVR-150 (if audio problems are real), is in the wings waiting for update.

  8. I have the Hauppauge PVR-250. After searching several forums, I made my choice a week ago. Based solely on numerous user reviews. I am very pleased with my choice. I do not care for the included software, however. I am currently using the trial version of TMPGEnc DVD Author. It is the only one of three authoring programs I have tried that DOESN'T create discs with synch problems. I'm going to have to break down and shell out for this program.
Don't call me a moron, after all I can count to four because I play the drums.
