  2. I am not using NVE and (of course) hadn't such problem. There are many-many complains about audio synch with NVE. To fix that simply use another application.

  3. It's pretty simple say to use another application!
I haven't got this problem, and I've authored a lot of (S)VCDs and some DVDs with Nero Vision Express, the problem perhaps is in your video, what kind of MPEG are you using?
It's strange I haven't have this kind of problems

Not strange at all. Each source file has its own quirks and problems (at least if you haven't created them yourself in the first place...) and to even think that one single application will handle them all with grace is absurd.
I'm with Abond - try other applications and methods. Use the convert guide finder here at VideoHelp (select sorce and destination formats and search).

Avoid "black box", "one click wonder" applications where you shove the source file in one end, and expect to have a new nice disc out the other in a matter of minutes, as there's no telling what goes on inbetween. Nice when it works - impossible to tell why when it doesn't. Using specialized apps for each step in the process from source file to finished disc makes it much easier to pinpoint where the problem is (not to mention the increased degree of control you get...)

None. Even if I've seen VSO DivXtoDVD (or whatever it's named) has quickly gathered quite a following.

But it is much easy and quick!
For the control I'm with you, I hate for this Nero Vision Express, but if you don't search to do a complicated CD (X(S)VCD, include file in the CD, burn original slideshows, ecc.) and you want to make a fine menu it's O.K. (for the movies generally I use TMPGEnc and Nero Burning Rom anyway, or form a litle of time VCDEasy or TSCV, but for the DVDs I don't know any good application for a good authoriting, maybe Sonic, but I have not used it yet).

Good DVD authoring apps are DVD-Lab Pro (full control, steep learning curve) or TMPGEnc DVD Author (dead easy to use, but can't handle everything).

  9. Oh my! I have forgotten of TMPGEnc DVD Author I've used it for one DVD, but it converts my audio menu in PCM instead in MP2, perhaps I should convert it before, the source was an MP3.

Authoring apps shouldn't convert anything IMO. You should have your source material ready before authoring, authoring app only checking that you've done your homework, and sending you back home if you haven't. As far as I've seen, TDA does nothing to your audio if it's DVD compliant.

  11. It's crazy, but I haven't found a single program that will reliably convert files to DVD format. I usually try another if the first one doesn't work. Some I have had success with: Ulead MovieFactory, The FilmMachine, VSO DIVXto DVD, AVItoDVD. I have tried Nero a few times, but have had *no* success with it. Either the sound is out of sync or the output is crappy. Nice menus, tho... Some of these programs use as many as 10 command-line-driven programs under the hood to get the transcoded DVD files.

And I'm still looking for a program that will easily put a border around the frame so I can see subtitles that are located close to the frame margin. They look OK when viewed on the PC, but TV overscan cuts them off.

  13. Maybe this can fix the audio sync issue:http://www.nero.com/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
it's a patch for NVE3 and they say this:
The problems occuring in the momemt when adding or transcoding MPEG2 files to NeroVision Express 3 are solved with this patch.
    Please try it!
