After 14 sucessful backups, got my first DVD Decriptor Error with this movie. Tried both my CPU DVD Reader and DVD Writer. Got the I/O error at the same place. Did clean, did check for smudges and scratches. Did wipe off.
Error was I/O Error Scsi Status 0x02, Interpretation: Check Condition.
Was able to eliminate the first error but the second one came up every time at VTS-11-1VOB, 17%, 21 files remaining. Did another cleaning of the disk and this time noted a faint scratch running from the inside ring to the outer surface--had to really, really look close to notice it.
My question. Was does, all things remaining equal, an I/O error mean? How do I determine if its both my CPU reader and writer, software, or the disc itself. Thanks, I feel better already![]()
