    Can anyone recommend me any good dvd player software? I really don't know squat about it...

    If you want plenty of bang and tie two things into one , try ifoedit .

    You will have to have a dvdplayer software most likely installed for this to work anyway , there's a couple of free players about , that should take care of the video side of things , maybe just installing the free dvd decoder codec that is used in windows media player will work , will have to try that one .

    Then over at www.free-codecs.com , grab the ac3 filter thing , and you will have audio .

    Yes , just tried ifoedit on my dvd drive , loaded the video_ts.ifo file , hit the play dvd button and away it went .... cool .

    And you also get a dvd editor for free in the bargain , so you can suss out any dvd authoring issues you might have ...
