JVC DR-MH30S delay problems

Hi to everybody here!
I have a JVC DR-MH30S stand alone DVD recorder... I need to use it in a surgery room to record an intervention...
The configuration:
I use the S-video out from the endoscope and i plug it on the S-video in (in the front panel)
I start the recorder (to record on HD).
I connect the Svideo out (back panel) on a tv to see real time what i am recording ...
What happen is that what i see on tv is 15 sec delayed from what the surger is doing...
If i record on DVD the things goes better but still 4/6 sec delay ramains... that r too much!
Do u experience the same delay with urs (same model or similar) DVD rec. ?

The question:
Do u know any settings to fix the problem?
I think tht is someth related to the "live memory play" (translated from italian..dont know what u see in ur languages..).
Since i dont have DVD recorder here (tht is in the hospital..far from here) i need some advice to try when i go there...

Yes, they pretty much all have a delay, although 15 seconds is a bit much. At most, it's about a ½ second off. It may be because you have a hard drive unit.

Having a DR-MH20S model (same machine, smaller hard disk) I can say that the delay I've experienced recording television programs is 3-4, possibly 5 seconds at worst. Never had it display stuff 15 seconds after it was shown on tv.

This is recording at SP (120min/DVD) quality onto the hard disk via scart on the back. I've never recorded straight to DVD.

I have an MH30s, and do experience a delay, but it is no more than 3-4 seconds at most (recording sat TV & VHS tapes).

It may be the cable or the signal that is transmitted by your endoscope. Or maybe the recorder might need more time to process what it is seeing. But in any case, if you need real-time this unit will not do it for you. If your endoscope has the ability to send video to MH30s and a TV monitor simultaneously, that may be the way to go.

Split the S-video signal from the endoscope with a s-video distribution amp.
(no degradation of the signal)
I believe Radio Shack sells a 1-in 4-out unit.
And then watch it in real-time.
